Frequently Asked Questions

What areas of Bugbase can be customised?

The range of customisable options include:

  • Classification: Is it a bug, change request, point of interest etc.

  • States: New, fixed, pending shipment, approved be customer, signed off

  • Severity: Don't ship, elastoplast required, not a problem etc.

  • Origin: Unit, integration, system testing, at customer site, by accident etc.

  • All of the configuration options used are included in Bugbase reports.

Can I sub-divide a project into logical or functional parts?

A 'project' defines a major area of testing and a 'module' describes a specific area within that project. You can create as many modules you require within a project to simplify the testing and development of the project.

Can I attach retated bitmaps and documents to an issue?

You can attach documents, bitmaps, html pages etc. to an issue. The documents must be stored on a central file system accessible to all users. Simply clicking on an attachment will open it.

What kind of reports are available and how do I create them?

Reports are produced in html format for easy viewing and conversion. A simple and intuitive screen allows you to finely tune your selection of output.
It simply couldn't be easier to produce clean customisable detail and summary reports:

How does the security system operate?

The Bugbase security system gives an administrator the ability to set-up user profiles with access to specific areas of the application. Testers can create and close issues. Developers can accept responsibility and mark as fixed but not close issues. Only administrators can change severity or status levels etc.
